Drone Services

Q: What kind of drone footage can you provide?
A: We offer high-resolution aerial photos and video, with professional editing. Common uses include marketing real estate listings, documenting crops or pastureland, inspecting large properties, or capturing commercial development projects.

Q: Do you offer editing or just raw footage?
A: Both. We can deliver raw footage, or provide professionally edited videos ready for use in listings, presentations, or social media.

Q: Are you licensed to fly drones commercially?
A: Yes — Mesa Plains is fully FAA-licensed and compliant with all Part 107 commercial drone regulations.

Q: Can you fly over private property?
A: We always seek the property owner’s consent before conducting drone operations. We do not trespass or violate FAA airspace rules.


Landman Services

Q: What does a landman do?
A: A landman researches property ownership, negotiates leases, analyzes mineral rights, and helps landowners understand the legal and economic aspects of their land. Mesa Plains specializes in both surface and mineral consulting.

Q: What is title research or abstracting?
A: Title research involves reviewing public records to trace the ownership history of land, identify mineral and surface rights, and flag any encumbrances like liens or easements.

Q: Can you help negotiate an oil, gas, or pipeline lease?
A: Yes. We provide negotiation support for oil and gas leases, and other land-use contracts to help you protect your long-term interests.


Land Consulting

Q: What is land consulting?
A: Land consulting involves helping landowners improve how they use or manage their property. This can include optimizing grazing operations, developing hunting leases, assessing potential for solar or commercial development, or resolving lease-related issues.

Q: Can you help develop a grazing plan or hunting lease?
A: Absolutely. We have extensive experience in grazing lease management, stocking strategies, and creating custom hunting lease agreements that align with landowner goals.

Q: Do you only work in West Texas?
A: While we’re based in West Texas, we’re happy to work with clients throughout the State and provide Drone and Land Consultation in the surrounding states. If you’re unsure whether you’re in our service area, just reach out and ask.


General Questions

Q: How much do your services cost?
A: Drone services are billed at $50/hour for filming and editing, plus $0.75 per mile (one way) for travel outside of Lubbock County. Land consulting and landman services are quoted based on the scope of the project but generally averages about $37.50/hour plus $.075 per mile (one way) for travel outside of Lubbock County. Q: Are you insured?
A: Yes. Mesa Plains carries liability insurance for drone operations and consulting work.
